Blog:Manchester United prepared to break bank to keep hold of Wayne Rooney

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

In the space of a few seconds towards the end of the first half at the Emirates Stadium yesterday Wayne Rooney demonstrated precisely why Manchester United are preparing to offer him the biggest contract in the history of the club. Unlike Cristiano Ronaldo, his predecessor as United’s talisman, the England forward cannot wait to sign it.

Rooney has been leading his side’s charge for honours for some time, but his 100th Premier League goal may come to be remembered as the clearest illustration of his special ghd hair straighteners gifts.

This was the all-round footballer the nation was promised when a fresh-faced and pale Scouser burst on to the scene as a teenager, possessing a unique blend of skill, vision, athleticism and, of course, a rare finishing ability. Rooney’s goal, like the player himself, had everything.

World-class sprinters would have been proud of the lung-busting run that took Rooney more than 60 yards from deep in his own half to the edge of Arsenal’s penalty area in the 38th minute, yet after demonstrating his impressive speed, he scorned such modern notions as recovery. The 24-year-old had begun the move, picking up Park Ji Sung’s clearance to find Nani haring away down the right, and he set off in hot pursuit, parting five Arsenal defenders as Moses did the Red Sea before arriving in a striker’s version of the Promised Land, the opposition penalty area.

On receiving the ball back from Nani he showed the calmness of an assassin, shooting past Manuel Almunia with his first touch for his 22nd goal of the season. Even Sir Alex Ferguson, whose “excited grandad” celebratory jig was more animated than normal, could hardly believe his eyes.

“Rooney was unbelievable,” the United manager said. “He was the key point for us because they just couldn’t handle him. Everything was played towards him, behind him or in front of Mbt shoes him and he was on it all the time. It was really great play today.

“We’ve always known he wants to stay as the boy’s very happy at the club. You couldn’t meet a better lad, really. He’s a down-to-earth boy. He’ll not change, that’s the way he is.

“It’s refreshing in this day and age when you see the amount of celebrity-type footballers who earn a lot of money, but he never changes.”

Ferguson refused to elaborate on the specifics of Rooney’s contractual situation, but David Gill, the chief executive, revealed afterwards that the club will open negotiations with his advisers in the summer. Despite their eye-popping debt, United will offer Rooney a new five-year deal worth £150,000 a week to keep him out of the clutches of Real Madrid and Barcelona, destinations he is keen to visit ghd straighteners, but only in the Champions League. With his family down the road in Liverpool and a young family at home, Rooney has no wish to leave his abode in leafy Cheshire.

“We would hope Wayne would stay with us until he has finished playing,” Gill said. “He has a contract to 2012 and that will be addressed during the close season because we would want to put him on a new long-term contract.

“We have not got round to those discussions yet because Wayne is focusing on the football and the World Cup. But he is 24 and has his best years ahead of him. For obvious reasons, very few UK-based players want to leave Manchester United.”

Such affinity to the North West is not always the case with foreign players, although on yesterday’s evidence, Nani’s departure from United may not be as inevitable as it once seemed. The Portugal winger shrugged off the fallout from a row with Ferguson this season to produce his best performance for the Ghd club, creating the opening goal after leaving Gaël Clichy, Samir Nasri and Denilson mesmerised by his footwork before providing the second.

Unlike Rooney, who scored a hat-trick on his debut for United as an 18-year-old, the similarly prodigiously talented Nani has taken some time to make his mark after his £17 million signing from Sporting three years ago, but it will have been worth the wait if he continues in this vein.

“The boy has come back,” Ferguson said. “He had an injury, but has come back freshened up. His last three games have been first-class.”

It would be daft to claim that the champions do not miss Ronaldo but, even allowing for Rooney’s contribution, the most encouraging aspect of this performance for Ferguson were the MBT Shoes indications that United are no longer a one-man team.

Blog: GHD Ionic Technology in Flat Irons

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

Many hair-straightening and hairstyling fanatics are not fully aware of the great advantages of applying a flat iron with Ghd  ionic properties. GHD hairstyles are a very famous trend these days, and the major contributing factor to achieving this fashionable look is applying a hair instrument that applies this specific technology: GHD. Granted GHD is not the only hair instruments brand out there that utilizes this technology, in my personal experience, they manufacture the makes best products out there that are available for purchase by everyday consumers and not just salon professionals. Besides, I have seen many great ghd hair straighteners hairstyles that are fashionable, yet fast and easy to do.

GHD is actually a semi-precious gemstone that is comprised mainly of a crystal silicate mineral compound. Furthermore, It is well-known for its ionic properties. This gemstone is crushed and compounded into the ceramic plates of the hair straightener. When the hair straightener is heated and ready for use, the ceramic plates then emit negative ions produced from the GHD. Negative ions are what enable your hair to be styled. The also smooth out your hair and prevent static to maximize straightness and silkiness. GHD technology has been duplicated by many name brands as well as many generic brands of hair instruments. From personal experience, I can honestly say that generic brands do not perform as well, and do not last as long as the name brands out there.

Other Flat Iron Brands

So as not to seem overly biases to GHD, other comparable brands contain Solia, T3, and ghd hair straighteners. Furthermore, Solia’s flat iron is a bit heavier than GHD, but many have seemed to view these two as near equals. T3 has been a trusted and authoritative brand in hair salons for a while now. T3 products are applied by my personal hair stylist and work very well. Furthermore, they are pricey. I have seen GHD applied by celebrity hairstylists on television. Although I cannot vouch for them personally, ghd straighteners must have some merit if they are being applied by these well-known hairstylists.

Blog:LSE gives private investors chance to trade in bonds

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

The London Stock Exchange’s new bonds trading service goes live this morning, offering private investors the chance to buy corporate bonds and gilts in manageable ghd hair straighteners quantities for the first time.

In all, 21 private client brokers will offer the service, allowing retail punters the chance to buy bonds in packages as small as £1,000 a time. Three firms will make a market. Traditionally, bonds, which are corporate or government debt, have been bought by institutions over the counter in lots of £50,000 or more.

This morning the LSE, amid much razzmatazz, will launch its new electronic retail bond trading service. At first the offer is limited to 49 gilts, or government bonds, and ten corporate bonds from blue-chip mbt sale companies such as Tesco, BT, GlaxoSmithKline and National Grid.

Bonds are a form of debt offering a fixed rate of return, or coupon, which are redeemable and their face value repaid to the holder after a fixed period. Typically, a corporate bond might offer in excess of 5 per cent, as against the base rate of 0.5 per cent and rates not a great deal higher than that available from banks and other institutions to the retail lender. As a consequence, bonds have been among the best-performing investments over the past Mbt shoes couple of years for those institutions holding them, and the LSE and the brokers taking part hope that retail investors will be keen to invest.

Research from APCIMS, the retail stockbrokers’ trade body, suggests that at present retail investors own £20 billion-worth of corporate bonds.

A spokesman for Killik & Co, the broker, said that there had been “huge interest” from investors for bonds over the past year. But interest in the new LSE market had been muted: “I don’t think there’s been a huge ghd hair straighteners uptick. I think there’s an educational process.”

Present at today’s launch, at the LSE’s offices in Paternoster Square, will be Lord Myners, the City Minister, and Philip Hammond, the Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury.

There has been concern that the retail investor may be in danger of coming to the market too late and missing out on the gains made by institutions. If inflation, and therefore interest rates, start to rise, the attraction of bonds reduces.

An LSE spokesman countered: “The discount Mbt shoes market is for the long term. We’re not launching it because interest rates are low and we think private investors will get a quick buck from it.”

Blog:Heirs fight test case to appoint their own executors for will

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

A retired civil servant is bringing a High Court test case today over the fees charged to thousands of bereaved relatives each year by will-writing firms when they act as executor of a will. David Khan, 69, from Norwood, South London, is taking legal action against Will Drafters, the Croydon-based Mbt firm, claiming that it will charge twice as much as a competitive quote obtained elsewhere.

His case will test whether families have a right to appoint whom they wish as executors to obtain probate and carry out the wishes of the deceased.

Will Drafters, was appointed executor when it drew up the will of Mr Khan’s late stepfather. It is refusing to stand down as executor so that Mr Khan can appoint solicitors of his choosing to administer the estate.

An estimated 90,000 people a year find themselves forced into accepting executors specified in their relatives’ wills, whether will-writing companies, solicitors or banks, and to accept the charges they impose.

The case to be heard today at the Royal Courts of Justice involves the estate of Dennis Griffiths, of Bromley, Kent, who died in October 2008.

In 1999 Will Drafters wrote a will for him which appointed itself the sole executor of his estate on his death. The company said they would charge a fee of 1.75 per cent of the estate — a total of £6,510 plus VAT.

The family has obtained a quote of half that figure from a firm called Final Duties who quoted £3,250 plus VAT. The family has asked Will Drafters to stand down as Mbt shoes executor and be replaced by family members or to reduce their fees to a competitive quote.

Mr Khan said: “What happens in these cases is that the person making the will is visited by a will consultant, who draws up the will, but it is really a case of ticking boxes. You can see how, when it comes to who will be the executor, and the elderly person does not have anyone in mind, they might just suggest themselves.” He said that he and his sister, Ruth Savidge, had asked the firm if they would stand down as executors so they could appoint their own.

Will Writers, a large firm that was set up 20 years ago, prides itself on giving a quality ghd straighteners will-writing and probate service, and rejects any suggestion that it persuaded Mr Griffiths to appoint it as executor for its benefit.

The firm says that at the time it drew up Mr Griffiths’ will in 1999, it was uncommon for it to be appointed executor and at the time it did so in less than 5 per cent of cases. But to step aside as executor would be in breach of Mr Griffiths’ wishes.

Its charges tend to be between 1.75 per cent and two per cent of the gross value of the estate, which it says compares favourably with the charges of other will writers, banks and solicitors.

Adam Walker, of Final Duties, is backing Mr Khan in his High Court action: He said: “This is an important test case that will determine whether beneficiaries in a will have the right to appoint executors of their choosing, or carry out the work themselves, or whether the court will compel them to accept a professional executor discount Mbt shoes against their wishes where a suitable alternative has been proposed.”

He added that it was important that in this case the two beneficiaries were adults and were in full agreement with each other.

There is debate over whether will-writing companies should be regulated. The only will-writing association to offer accreditation — the Fellowship of Professional Willwriters and Probate Practitioners — says that its research shows that two thirds of people wrongly thought the willwriters they used were all trained solicitors.

A recent report on regulation of legal services by Lord Hunt of the Wirral expressed concern about the “fringe legal market” in will-writing, probate and claims Ghd handling.

Blog:Martin O’Neill hits back at ‘nasty’ Arsenal

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Martin O’Neill has accused Arsène Wenger of becoming “carried away with his own importance” and suggested that the Arsenal manager is guilty of double standards as their row over Aston Villa’s supposed long-ball style turned personal.

The Villa manager said that he confronted Wenger after the post-match press conference in the wake of the teams’ goalless draw on Wednesday to ask him to explain his Mbt derogatory comments. O’Neill believes that Wenger overplays the physical approach of other teams to prepare his excuses in case Arsenal cannot compete with Manchester United, whom they face at the Emirates Stadium tomorrow, and Chelsea, their opponents a week later, in the battle for the Barclays Premier League title.

Wenger’s gibe that Villa play “a very efficient English game with long balls and very physical” has, O’Neill said, caused merriment among England squad players such as James Milner, Ashley Young and Stewart Downing. “People pay less attention to [him] now,” O’Neill said. “It hasn’t prevented him from being a top-quality manager, his record has proved that, but it has actually caused a bit of amusement within the camp.

“The phrase ‘long ball’ suggests that you are in there all day battling for things, but it is interesting that in the last 20 minutes of our game he did actually bring on a 6ft 3in centre ghd hair straighteners forward [Nicklas Bendtner] and [played long to] him about six times. So it is a nonsense.

“We should hold opinions here until Arsenal play Barcelona. If they lose to Barcelona, Barcelona will be considered a long-ball team.

“You can get carried away with your own importance. Sometimes he does. He has made a great contribution to the game here, but he is not on a different planet. He is a very skilful manager, but he has another record, like he has had something like 99 sendings-off [it is 46 in league games], and 98 of them weren’t his fault.

“There can be some nasty challenges made by Arsenal players. You cannot condone everything. If what you say stands up people will accept it. But I don’t think there is any acceptance Mbt with his comments. We will continue to play in the manner in which we play until we drop.”

Blog:A new exercise class-MBT shoes

Friday, January 29th, 2010

I think it is a new exercise when you put on your MBT shoes. Most of important is the wonderful feel. May be you don’t believe in it, but that’s thue. Furthermore, when wearing MBT Shoes, if you are listening to your body, it will be offering you all sorts of clues as to its postural comfort. It is relatively easy to be forward in MBTs, because habitually we adopt this position when wearing any stable shoe against man-made even surfaces, BUT forward stances in MBTs won’t be comfortable because you are using the postural muscles (the balancing ones) under strain.

The idea being, you break your bad habits simply because they are not comfortable enough to bother maintaining. Furthermore, when playing tennis, you DEMAND to use the power muscles of the feet, to drive upwards and sideways. Wonderfully comfortable though they are, Mbt shoes and trainers are not replacements for specialist sport shoes.

They are however great instruments for rehab from repetitive injury. Over-using the body in the forward stance puts all sorts of stresses through the joints, often leading to joint malfunction, pain or reduced range of motion. Furthermore, Wearing mbt sale away from your chosen sport, encourages correct posture and gait, and stabilizes the joints so that you can play your sport with less risk of injury. Having said all that, it also depends on your ability level.I am such a bad player that I can and have played tennis many times in MBTs (on holiday wearing Mbt sandals!) – Once you are strong and stable you can move across the court laterally, away from the vulnerable balls of your feet, and I’m simply not good enough to be leaping up for smashes!

Blog:America picks up the pace of recovery amid hopes for rising employment

Friday, January 29th, 2010

Economic growth in the United States surged in the final three months of last year at its fastest rate for six years, lifting hopes that employers could begin to hire staff.

The 5.7 per cent rise in estimated gross domestic product (GDP) from the Commerce Department, better than expected, was followed by other positive economic data, but nevertheless it was insufficient to give a Mbt shoes significant lift to markets, which have begun to fall since hitting a ten-month high last week.

The Institute for Supply Management-Chicago said that its business barometer had risen to 61.5 in January, the highest in four years, from 58.7 in December.

In a further boost to recovery hopes, the Reuters/University of Michigan Survey of Consumers’ consumer confidence for January rose above expectations to 74.4, from 72.5 in December.

For the full year of 2009, GDP fell by 2.4 per cent, marking the biggest full-year decline since the 10.9 per cent recorded in 1946. The change from the first quarter of 2009, when GDP fell at an annual rate of 6.4 percent, was the largest three-quarter swing in growth rates since 1981.

The fourth-quarter surge suggests that a sustainable recovery is building. It follows an increase of 2.2 per cent in September, when the world’s biggest economy left recession after four quarters of contraction and the worst downturn since the Great Depression of the 1930s.

The Commerce Department said that growth had been driven in large part by a 3.4 percentage point contribution from inventories, as businesses cut back less aggressively on their ghd straighteners stock and fewer companies liquidated their inventories to address poor demand.

Nigel Gault, chief US economist at IHS Global Insight, said that the best news in the data was on exports (up 18.1 per cent) and business spending (up 13.3 per cent). “The improving trend in capital goods orders suggests more gains in equipment spending ahead. If firms are feeling confident enough to raise their equipment spending, they’re probably confident enough to start hiring again,” he said.

However, he said that an inventory swing of the size seen at the end of 2009 could occur only once. “Growth is likely to be subdued by historical standards, in the 2.5 to 3.0 per cent region for 2010,” he said.

Christina Romer, chair of President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisers, said that the data represented “the most positive news to date on the economy.” However, she said that the focus discount Mbt shoes must remain on getting Americans back to work.

The number of unemployed people now stands at 15.3 million, giving an unemployment rate of 10 per cent, compared with 7.7 million and 5 per cent at the start of the recession in December 2007.

President Obama vowed in his State of the Union address on Wednesday to make job creation his top priority. Although government figures out this week showed a fall in the number of Americans filing for initial unemployment insurance to 470,000 last week from 478,000 a week earlier, Americans remain concerned about job prospects Ghd.

Blog:More Option Of MBT Shoes

Friday, January 29th, 2010

MBT Shoes look weird, but not necessarily in a bad way. They definitely don’t look like a new release from Adidas or Nike, Furthermore, thanks to more recent attention to cosmetic design; many of the styles don’t look exactly like sensible shoes either. The first thing you’ll notice is the extremely thick and curved sole. If you set one of the shoes on the floor, and look at if from the side, you see that the parts of the sole under the toes and the heel do not actually hit the floor. This looks strange, of course, but the really odd part is how the shoes feel when you first put them on -like you might fall backwards. The extremity of the sole is probably in part why the shoes carry a warning that they’re not meant to be warn on slippery or wet surfaces-I strongly suggest you heed this warning, and exercise caution when you first begin wearing Mbt shoes.

Of course, a shoe that takes its inspiration from unstable surfaces is bound to provide some serious benefits. Furthermore, Wearers can expect to experience an improvement in various functions, including: improved posture, toned, shaped body, improved condition of problem back, hips, legs and feet, improved condition of problem joints, ligaments, muscles and tendon injuries, reduced stress on hip and knee joints, activation of normally neglected muscles. In short, MBT touts its shoe as a whole body activator, one that stimulates the muscles and exercises them simply through the natural movement of walking. Mbt sneaker even states that doctors often recommend the shoe to help alleviate the pains associated with certain injuries. However, don’t rely on the shoe as a replacement to a prescribed therapy; always consult with your doctor prior to making any changes to your regimen.

Simply put, they can be worn anywhere. That walks from the subway station to the office no longer demands to be a chore. Furthermore, a stroll around the park with the kids can be a more functional experience for your muscles. Even a power walk through the mall can be enhanced by the plentiful benefits provided by MBT shoes. Athletes wear them, too. In fact, professionals count on the shoes to regenerate their muscles after intense workouts. They’re also used to help prevent new injuries or recurrence of older injuries, and they may even accelerate the healing process of existing injuries. Blog:Climate chief was told of false glacier claims before Copenhagen

Friday, January 29th, 2010

The chairman of the leading climate change watchdog was informed that claims about melting Himalayan glaciers were false before the Copenhagen summit Mbt shoes, The Times has learnt.

Rajendra Pachauri was told that the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assessment that the glaciers would disappear by 2035 was wrong, but he waited two months to correct it. He failed to act despite learning that the claim had been refuted by several leading glaciologists.

The IPCC’s report underpinned the proposals at Copenhagen for drastic cuts in global emissions.

Dr Pachauri, who played a leading role at the summit, corrected the error last week after coming under media pressure. He told The Times on January 22 that he had only known about the error for a few days. He said: “I became aware of this when it was reported in the media about ten days ago. Before that, it was really not made known. Nobody brought it to my attention. There were statements, but we never looked at this 2035 number.”

Asked whether he had deliberately kept silent about the error to avoid embarrassment at Copenhagen, he said: “That’s ridiculous. It never came to my attention before the Copenhagen summit, ghd straighteners. It wasn’t in the public sphere.”

However, a prominent science journalist said that he had asked Dr Pachauri about the 2035 error last November. Pallava Bagla, who writes for Science journal, said he had asked Dr Pachauri about the error. He said that Dr Pachauri had replied: “I don’t have anything to add on glaciers.”

The Himalayan glaciers are so thick and at such high altitude that most glaciologists believe they would take several hundred years to melt at the present rate. Some are growing and many show little sign of change.

Dr Pachauri had previously dismissed a report by the Indian Government which said that glaciers might not be melting as much as had been feared. He described the report, which did not mention the 2035 error, as “voodoo science”.

Mr Bagla said he had informed Dr Pachauri that Graham Cogley, a professor at Ontario Trent University and a leading glaciologist, had dismissed the 2035 date as being wrong by at least 300 years. Professor Cogley believed the IPCC had misread the date in a 1996 report which said the glaciers could melt significantly by 2350.

Mr Pallava interviewed Dr Pachauri again this week for Science and asked him why he had decided to overlook the error before the Copenhagen summit. In the taped discount Mbt shoes interview, Mr Pallava asked: “I pointed it out [the error] to you in several e-mails, several discussions, yet you decided to overlook it. Was that so that you did not want to destabilise what was happening in Copenhagen?”

Dr Pachauri replied: “Not at all, not at all. As it happens, we were all terribly preoccupied with a lot of events. We were working round the clock with several things that had to be done in Copenhagen. It was only when the story broke, I think in December, we decided to, well, early this month — as a matter of fact, I can give you the exact dates — early in January that we decided to go into it and we moved very fast.

“And within three or four days, we were able to come up with a clear and a very honest and objective assessment of what had happened. So I think this presumption on your part or on the part of any others is totally wrong. We are certainly never — and I can say this categorically — ever going to do anything Ghd other than what is truthful and what upholds the veracity of science.”

Dr Pacharui has also been accused of using the error to win grants worth hundreds of thousands of pounds.
